OMTB Hurricane Preparedness – Hurricane season is fast approaching (June 1-November 30, and One Man and A Tool Box wants to make certain you are ready…. Now is the time to make your plans, stock up on flash flights, batteries, water, etc. If you plan on remaining in your home, you may want to consider purchasing a generator in the event you lose power (along with a couple extra cans of gas).
The 2019 Atlantic hurricane season may be slightly less active than last year, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be less dangerous, according to an outlook released Monday by The Weather Company. The outlook calls for a total of 14 named storms, seven hurricanes and three major hurricanes. This is slightly above the 30-year average of 12 named storms, six hurricanes and three major hurricanes. A major hurricane is one that is Category 3 or stronger on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.
